National Film Award: Elated after winning the ‘Best Actor award’ for Pushpa movie, actor Allu Arjun got emotional while celebrating the moment with his family and friends.

With this award, Allu Arjun created history by becoming the first actor from Telugu film industry to win the National Film Award. The event was held at the National Media Centre in Delhi. The National Film Award jury evaluated the performance of 280 films across 28 languages in competition for different categories of awards.
Other than Allu Arjun, R Madhavan, Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon also bagged National Awards this year. Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt won best actress prize for their roles in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Whereas, Kriti Sanon won the award for her role in Mimi.
Notably, it is the first National Film Award for all three stars. The best director award was won by Nikhil Mahajan for Marathi film “Godavari”. The National Awards for 2021 were announced by filmmaker Ketan Mehta who headed the 11-member jury. Critically acclaimed actor, Pankaj Tripathi won the award in best supporting role for “Mimi” and Pallavi Joshi won the best supporting actress for “The Kashmir Files”.
“The Kashmir Files”, directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, also won the Nargis Dutt award for best film on national integration. Globally popular, “RRR” won six awards. R Madhavan won award for “Rocketry…”. He dedicated the award to his parents and Nambi Narayanan, a former ISRO scientist whose life story inspired the film.
“Getting the national award for the Best Feature film has given us the belief that Nambi Narayanan Sir will finally get the recognition he so richly deserves, and that has been our only mission,” he said.
“The love of the audience around the world and the recognition bestowed upon us today has completely humbled me and I do not take this lightly… This has inspired me to give even more of myself to this wonderful profession I am in, and I hope to entertain all of you, as best as I can in the years to come,” he added.
