Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said it would be possible to negotiate a solution for Crimea rather than using force amid a series of attacks on the annexed peninsula. He said in an interview that “when we are at the administrative borders of Crimea, I think it is possible politically to force the demilitarisation of Russia on the territory of the peninsula”. He emphasised that he did not want to shift the war to Russian territory, adding that the goal is to liberate Ukraine’s regions and that advancing into Russia would risk crucial Western support.
