Daily wage earners or blue-collared tribes of our country aspire to lead a decent life with the right opportunities and support systems. Like their white colourer brethren would like to live with dignity and security, if given a fair chance!
That is possible only with access to essential services like education and healthcare. Affordable and quality education can empower them to acquire new skills, opening up avenues for better-paying jobs. Improved healthcare facilities ensure a healthier workforce, reducing the burden of medical expenses. Will this dream of desk-less job seekers come true?
Behold! We have a boon in disguise for such people who share the maximum percentage of the nation’s workforce. CHAUWK is the ultimate solution for these desperate souls.
CHAUWK is a revolutionary platform designed to empower users with a seamless learning experience. With its user-friendly interface, the app provides access to diverse vernacular content, catering to various regional languages and making learning accessible to a broader audience.
The gamified upskilling aspect adds an element of fun, incentivizing users to engage actively in the learning process. Through interactive quizzes, challenges and rewards, users can enhance their skills while tracking their progress.
Moreover, the app’s focus on well-being ensures a holistic approach to personal growth, nurturing mental and emotional wellness alongside up-skilling. By amalgamating technology, education and well-being, this LIFETECH application paves the way for a brighter and more empowered future.
The founder ABHISHEK KUMAR GUPTA, an inspiring personality with a noble initiative gave a few moments of his hectic schedule to divulge the details behind the project:
What is the Problem that CHAUWK is solving?
The biggest problem of these blue and grey collared workers in India is the Stagnation of skills and quality of life with a limited view of opportunities and digital tools/services. We put this perspective in the forefront to design a way out for this downtrodden sect to etch a decent and secure living.
How does CHAUWK help them?
CHAUWK is a comprehensive easy to navigate online vernacular mobile micro-learning, Gamified Upskilling and well-being Lifetech android application. The app is as I call it a LifeTech platform for Blue – Grey collared workers (or desk-less workers) looking to Upskill, Socialize and use various services and offers curated to their lifestyle, requirements and convenience.
Why did you primarily embark on CHAUWK?
Our aim is to uplift the quality of life of the workforce in the lowest strata of our society using digital technologies to offer gamified learning tools in various skilled trades streams, reward points for community contribution, curated partner offers, tools and services. During COVID, we witnessed on TV those horrible scenes of migrants walking back home to their villages, with no future reflected in their eyes. Those situations should be history in the future digitized world where access to learning, information, opportunities and services are democratized with better living standards of the desk-less workforce in our society.
So how did you start this noble initiative?
Our initial emphasis was to transform the belief that social startups can both generate profits and create a positive social impact. It underscores the importance of persistence and strategic pursuit of suitable opportunities to achieve this dual objective successfully. By persistently working towards our goals and seizing the right opportunities, CHAUWK can drive meaningful change and financial viability simultaneously.
Has the ecosystem welcomed you and where do you stand at the moment?
Yes, we received a tumultuous welcome from the ecosystem. I was selected to Stanford University’s Seed Spark South Asia startup Cohort for social impact entrepreneurs. And we are moving at a rapid pace since conceptualizing the idea in May 2023. We have numerous enquiries coming from various stakeholder groups that deal with our target user customers such as construction workers, electricians, plumbers, auto drivers, ITI students, SHGs, FPOs and various other manual labour workforces. Our app is live with a user base seeing an upside.
Where can we view CHAUWK in the near future and what would you say to budding START-UPS?
CHAUWK plans to impact at least 40 million blue-grey collared desk-less workers in the next 3 years. He concluded, “My personal suggestion to young wannapreneurs is to Focus on solving the problem smartly and follow the customers, rest all will follow.”
