BCCI secretary Jay Shah handed over the ticket to the legendary actor.
The BCCI shared a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, stating Golden ticket for our golden icons!
BCCI Honorary Secretary @JayShah had the privilege of presenting our golden ticket to none other than the “Superstar of the Millennium,” Shri @SrBachchan.
“A legendary actor and a devoted cricket enthusiast, Shri Bachchan’s unwavering support for #TeamIndia continues to inspire us all. We’re thrilled to have him join us for the @ICC @CricketWorldCup 2023,” the post further said.
Meanwhile, India have recalled a fit-again KL Rahul for the ODI World Cup. However, wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson did not make the cut for the 15-man team, and this decision didn’t come as a significant surprise.
Rahul’s return to competitive cricket is eagerly awaited, as he hasn’t played since May due to a thigh injury. He is set to rejoin the squad in Sri Lanka for the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup.
In the race for the wicket-keeper’s position, Ishan Kishan appears to be the frontrunner. His recent form in one-day internationals, including scoring fifty runs in his last four ODIs, has made him a compelling choice. Additionally, Kishan’s left-handed batting adds a valuable dimension to the team’s lineup.
Kuldeep Yadav is the lone frontline wrist-spinner in the Rohit Sharma-led squad, which contains spin all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.
India squad:
Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav
