Google has been involved in a friendly banter with Apple through certain ads that show Pixel smartphones taking a dig at iPhones related to some of the features that the former has. Google has now released another ad that not only promotes some of its features but also suggests a ‘new feature’ coming in iPhones.
The ad shows both Pixel and iPhones in a spa talking about upcoming “big launch events coming up.” Both Apple and Google have announced the launch date of their next products. Apple will launch the iPhone 15 series on September 12 and Google will launch the Pixel 8 series on October 4.
“Th-row-baaaack” moment
During the talk, iPhone asks Pixel about the first iPhone’s feature that got him applause to which Pixel responds, “Sliding to Unlock.”
Pixel then goes on to mention some of its features like unblurring old photos, answering unknown calls with AI and live translating messages.
iPhone getting USB Type-C
The iPhone then responds by saying that it also has some tricks up its sleeve and “you’ll be USB-C-ing soon.”
“You’re finally getting USB-C charging?” Pixel asks, to which iPhone responds by saying, “How did you know”
What’s interesting is that there have been reports that iPhone 15 may come with a USB Type-C port, however, there has not been any confirmation or official teaser on that front. Pixel also smartly skips to name the model of the iPhone that will get the USB Type-C port.

Best phones forever
In the previous #BestPhonesForever series ad, Pixel took a dig at Apple for being unable to offer Live Translation feature. In the ad, Google highlighted that the feature can translate any supported language quickly.
The advertisement showed Google Pixel 7 Pro talking with iPhone 14 Pro on soccer. Pixel is then able to translate “Soccer” into multiple languages but iPhone is stuck with the word soccer.
